Light in the Dark – History and Exploration of the Cave Remeron

The Remeron Cave, located on Monte Campo dei Fiori just outside Varese, was a destination for daring explorations since 1900, in an attempt to reach the bottom. This documentary tells the story and the events that have made this cave famous throughout the Varese area and in Lombardy, as evidenced by the thousands of visitors who cross the threshold every year. An exciting journey retracing the adventures conducted by a handful of explorers whose life was entrusted to precarious equipment, the only ones available in those years, with the original tales of the protagonists and the sensational news reported by the press of the era, up to our time, with the risky underwater exploration of the terminal siphon, the discovery of new branches and a second entrance, the scientific observation and study of the hypogean fauna hosted in the deepest areas, to finally reach the enhancement of this interesting cave through initiatives aimed at the public with the planning, each year, of guided tours inside.
