The most beloved moment of the Transylvania Mountain Festival – Transylvania Mountain Festival is the announcement of the winners of the awards and trophies. The TMF 2024 Gala took place on November 23 in Cluj-Napoca, on the stage of Cinema Victoria.
The 7th edition gathered 2300 of mountain lovers in Cluj-Napoca, Transylvania region, in Romania! TMF competitions ran throughout the year and enjoyed international participation from 26 countries.
THE LINE edition’s agenda included book launches, photo exhibitions, educational meetings, dynamic activities for adults and children, mountain film screenings at the cinema and in the cultural café.

Together with our friend – the actor Bogdan BOB Rădulescu and with the partners of the edition, we were once again happy to present you the lucky winners for the film, photography, innovation and mountain project sections.

TMF 2024 Mountain Photography Award
The TMF 2024 Trophy for mountain photography has been won by Julia Roger – Veyer, awarded for her landscape and sports photography.
The announcement was made by Gabriel Motica, founder of Maramont and Carmen Rânca – HR Manager, Garmin Cluj!
Special thanks to our partner GARMIN Romania, who awarded an Instinct Solar 2 watch to the winner of the photography competition! Thanks to Maramont and Gerovital by Farmec Cluj for awarding specific product sets.

TMF 2024 Mountain Film Award
The TMF 2024 Mountain Film Trophy is awarded to the film and project YAMNUSKA: The Ragged Edge – directed by John Price, producers Malcolm Sangster, Gabriella Dufour Leonard – Sherpas Cinema for :
- meticulous documentation of the Yamnuska area
- for the narrative line of the movie
- and for embarking us from the first second on a cinematic journey that celebrates the rich history and folklore surrounding this legendary mountaineering mecca, but also pays homage to the characters who etched their names on its vertical walls and created historic lines.
A monumental production that fitted perfectly with the theme of the edition: The Line.

- Best Mountain Short TMF 2024: SVEN (USA, 2024) directed by Gabe Rovick
- Best Mountain Documentary TMF 2024: YAMNUSKA: The Ragged Edge (Canada, 2023) directed by John Price
- Best Mountain Feature TMF 2024: PACHAMAMA (France, 2024) directed by Yannick Boissenot

TMF 2024 MOUNTAIN INNOVATION AWARD
The TMF 2024 Trophy for Innovation was awarded to the team of Propark – Foundation for Protected Areas for the development of comprehensive projects in the direction of nature protection and conservation, in particular:
- organizational capacity development programs, in particular the online SMART Competences Assessment Tool (CAT)
- launch of the Nature Center of Excellence
- extensive educational activities and complex actions aimed at helping practitioners and stakeholders to improve their professional performance in the management of protected areas and natural resources critical for conservation
The Transylvania Mountain Festival 2024 Innovation Trophy was announced on stage by Aida Ticudean, Director of Garmin Cluj.
On behalf of the ProPark – Foundation for Protected Areas team, Tiberiu Chiricheș and Alina Paraschiv were with us to accept the trophy.

TMF 2024 MOUNTAIN PROJECT AWARD
As every year the Transylvania Mountain Festival grand trophy is awarded for excellent results in the field of mountain sports and raising public awareness of their importance.
The TMF 2024 Mountain Project Trophy was awarded to the team of Papa Ionuț and Alex Manoliu, the two Romanian mountaineers who recently established the Pamir Rainy Avenue Pamir Line (700m) a new route on the Pamir Pyramid in the Karavshin Valley, Ak-su, Kyrgystan
The winners were unveiled on open stage by Aida Ticudean, Director Garmin Cluj and Ioana Maxim, Senior Manager Software Engineering Aviation & AutoOEM Garmin Cluj.
Thanks to the Garmin Romania team for offering the two Garmin Instinct Solar smartwatches. Thanks to the Maramont and Gerovital by Farmec Cluj teams for the attentions given to the climbers.

The awards were announced on stage, in the presence of the TMF team, the official delegates for the reception ceremony and the audience present at the Victoria Cinema.
