October 20 – 30, 2020
@ TRANSYLVANIA MOUNTAIN FESTIVAL 2020
Tuesday, October, we officially launch ALTITUDES the mountain photography exhibition, featuring works from Alex Sava and Dan Tăuțan, members of our photography competition jury. The works were selected under the inspiration of Transylvania Mountain Festival 2020 key theme: vertical stories.
The photos will be exhibited in La Cave art gallery hosted by our partner Institut Francais de Cluj-Napoca, for 2 weeks, until October 30.
The vernissage will be held outdoor, on October 20, at 18:00 o’clock in the court of the French Institute from Cluj (22, I.C. Brătianu street, Cluj-Napoca) by strictly respecting the sanitary protocol imposed during this period.
Since we are so happy that our colleague and friend Alex Sava will be able to attend the vernissage, we inform you that those who wish to help him with the neuromotorial recovery, will have the possibility to donate and choose a photo to take home.

ALTITUDES
ALTITUDES photo collection brings forth that unique state that we can experience only on mountain ridges and tops.
Images from the Alps and the Carpathians made by Alex Sava and Dan Tăuțan, imprint on our retina the distinct shape of alpine heights and voids. Defiant rocks, summits bathing in a sea of clouds or snow, the fight between day and night, the passage from one season to another – all these carry us to the heights of human spirit and reminds us of our fragility.
Dan Tăuțan brings in the foreground the light sifted by the clouds while moving above the crests, the cauldrons and the lakes from the Carpathians. His photos bring a rich chromatic, traversing all seasons.
Alex Sava advances abrupt landforms, at high altitude, governed by the game between white, blue and rock colors. We feel the snow, the fog, the clouds, the ice, the rocks, the wind and even the pleasant sun beams. The presence of humans only amplifies the greatness of the landscape.
Choose a photo and help Alex Sava regain his mobility
Those who wish to take home the feeling of freedom and happiness from high altitude, are welcomed to choose a mountain photo against a direct donation to our colleague and friend Alex Sava, who is in the middle of a painful recovery process after a tragic accident this spring.
If you do not know this yet, since May 2020, Alex is leading a fantastic battle to regain his mobility and the control over his own body.
For many of us Alex is family or close friend. For many others Alex is that guy who enchanted the public with exceptional photography from the world of alpinism, rock climbing and mountain bike. The expedition that Alex took on, is a long and difficult one, maybe the most painful of his life, but he is willing to fight. The road to recovery after such a physical trauma is exceptionally long, tough and expensive.
Therefore, this is a direct call for those who wish to help Alex along the way to join us. What’s more, you also get to take home a super nice photo from the current and past exhibitions. They will be available in the gallery.
Donations can be done directly in Alex’s bank account, without intermediaries, and will be exclusively used for the medical expenses.
