The TMF MOUNTAIN PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITON & AWARD is a special project of TRANSYLVANIA MOUNTAIN FESTIVAL designed as a space for the art of photograpahy in mountain environments, promoting mountain exploration and conveying the story of the places that amaze and inspire us.

In April 2021,  we are officially launching the TMF 2021 Mountain Photography Competition around this year’s key theme – Above The Summits.

The TMF 2021 Mountain Photography categories are:

  1. Mountain Sports Photography– rock climbing, alpine ski, free ride, MTB, snowboard, trail running, caving, canyoning, paragliding, kayak, ice climbing, BASE jump, high-line, river surfing, mountain gold or any other mountain sports – all are welcome to be represented. Get inspired and get creative!
  2. Mountain Landscape Photography– photos from all altitudes, all seasons and environments: underground caves, forest, rocks, glaciers, mountain lakes, mountain rivers, remote areas and national parks.

Submissions Rules:

We underline the fact that this competition is international, the photos must be classified in one single category, and please respect the submission deadlines:

  • Submissions deadline: 20.08.2021
  • Notifications deadline: 24.08.2021

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • The images submitted in the competition should cover one or more of the following environments:  underground,  ground, aquatic and aerial.
  • The finished format of the photos will be: 30 x 45 cm, 300 dpi (min 2500 px / height)
  • You are allowed to submit: 3 photos / category (that means a max of 6 photos per participant)
  • Each photo should be counted from 1 to n, bearing the mention of the category, followed by the name of the author, the year in which it was made, the title of the work and the place where it was taken.

(for example: 1_B_Mihai Popescu_2018_Landscape in the Carpathians_ Șureanu Mountains)

  • Images must be submitted without watermark

TMF Mountain Photography Winners:

One of the main reasons it worth joining our friendly and authentic small festival is that the official photo selection will be presented during a live exhibition (provided that it will be possible in the  COVID19 pandemic context, that we hope to overcome by October – November 2021 in Cluj-Napoca, Transylvania, Romania too*) and also very important, the selected photographers will benefit of  promotion on all our media channels of the festival.

Should all conditions be favorable by November 2020, the winner will be presented on stage during the TMF  Transylvania Mountain Festival Awards Gala, on November 12th, 2021.
